Ladies and Gentlemen, ok well mostly the Female population; if you are male and like twilight then this is also for you poor souls infatuated with Edward! Haha, so all of you have probably read the Twilight books and watched the Twilight movies. Most of you will continue to watch the movies until the fourth installment comes out bringing to closure another literature to Hollywood saga. It’s a sad thought, thinking that it will come to an end eventually, leaving all us searching for the next teen hunk to pawn over.
On a positive note, you all be happy with a book series I recently read extremely similar to the Twilight Saga. One book I will explain to you today is called Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick. It’s about a girl Nora Grey, who isn’t exactly attracted to boys at her school. No she is not lesbian so get your mind out of the gutter please. She just does not see anyone worth dating. Boys tend to be shallow and not-all-that- attractive boys and that just isn’t her cup of tea. She is more of a loaner until a new kid, a boy named Patch, enrolls in her school.
They meet in science class… (what do you know? Just like Bella and Edward). Their science teacher pairs them up as science partners with their first assignment being to interview each other. How is that for a great excuse to learn intimate details of somebody interesting? Patch seems to immediately know everything about Nora, without her ever saying a word. This makes her extremely uncomfortable and she confides in her one true friend Vee. They both agree that Patch is gorgeous so who really cares if he is a little eerie as well.
Patch begins to invade Nora’s dreams and then even when she is awake it is like he is always with her, surrounding her, invading her mind. When Nora is even remotely close to anything dangerous Patch seem to always be there saving her. She begins to wonder how he knows where she is at all times and how he has the ability to supernaturally keep her safe. Even the way he moves seems too fast, too calculated, to precise.
I won’t tell you anymore details nor the end as that will ruin the surprise. To find out what he is and how things turn out you will have to read the book yourself. You know books right. Sometimes it is still nice to turn off the TV and flip a page now and then.
I give it 10 out of 10
(Great read!)
