I guess when Katie decided to take it all off she has forgotten how to put it back on again. Losing her job at Ultimo has not stopped the young model from continuing her spree of skin shots. She is now coming out with her 2010 calendar and it leaves very little the imagination. Thanks to News of the World for bringing us the new Katie photos. I guess that is saying something since I continually get reprimanded for the pictures and word content of our site to begin with. There is only so much judgment one man can take. The world news helps keep things in perspective some. The war in Afghanistan has hit home with me a little as my JournalStone partner’s brother (he is a marine) is being shipped over to the gun torn region. At the ripe age of 22 it seems our young continue the long tradition of fighting battles for us. I can only cross my fingers and wish him the best. It must be difficult for his family seeing him go but then again the US and most countries have a long standing tradition of sending over kids to finish what we as grown ups never could.
The feeling of invulnerability that young adults possess loses its effectiveness quickly as we move into out thirties and begging the process of aging. On the day after Halloween, a holiday focusing on kids and candy, it seems ironic how quickly a child moves from trick or treating to carrying a machine gun and killing his fellow man. It is a small turn around a corner and the next thing you know the life of a child has ended and you are faced with the realities of adulthood. Life really is short it seems and yet we all spend so much of it doing things we have no faith or belief in.
Is happiness about getting by? Is life about making do? Is there nothing more than eating a chocolate bar and moving forward with the monotony of Monday’s that come full circle ever single week? The second you break the mold and step out of the box you are chastised by society for being different. Changing the rules. Not following the unwritten law of conformity. If the military is about anything it is about leaving your identity behind and being indoctrinated into the cultish brainwashed arena of guns and death. Nothing against our military. It must perform this way. A group of individuals can accomplish nothing but a platoon of one, acting as a single fighting force can accomplish great things.
Katie Green broke the rules and was fired. Rules that were put into place and bent for others were rigidly enforced for her. Corporate standards can be changed and manipulated when it suites the executives and held firmly close to the vest when agendas change. The only way to hold your destiny firmly in place is when you cut the umbilical cord that fastens you to the privileged elite and decide to do something on your own. I hope Katie makes it. Sometimes I feel like a nut and sometimes I think of buying a gun and arming myself against the dredges of darkness that might or might not be who or what they seem to be. Nobody likes being alone in the dark.
